That's not quite the installers fault - it's an option among the
available distributions, can easily be installed by default and you
evidently just missed seeing it.

Also, the FreeBSD ports collection is now up to 547 ports.  I don't know
how many RedHat has, but I'd still say that's a heck of a lot of ported
software! :)
