Since you aimed your original response at me, I feel compelled to speak
at this point. First, yes you *were* shouting. Nettiquette is quite
clear: all caps, unless called for as in a filename or similar, is
considered shouting and is *very* impolite. In the same way, you *are*
shouting in the above paragraph. There are better ways to indicate
emphasis than all caps. Please learn the rules of politeness before you
post again.

Second, if you had already adjusted your MAXUSERS line (all caps
appropriate here because it is listed that way in the configuration
file) before asking for help, you should have said so -- knowing what
you have already done can tell those helping you either what you did
wrong or that some other parameter must still be adjusted. Since you
said nothing about adjustments already made, I couldn't assume any.
Thus, I responded with the first place an adjustment should be made.

There are also some per-user process count limitations I have seen
mentioned here; I've never had to adjust them because my particular
setup works fine in its default mode in that respect. Perhaps someone
who mentioned that before will refresh our memories on this score.

Thanks for the effort, Brian. Even though it may have been wasted...
