I've added drives to FreeBSD before, and it was always painful, getting the label added, etc. At least Sys-V systems tend to come with a single utility program (script) that steps you through the process. I recall a 2GB/filesystem limitation in the past, and also claims that this has been overcome in recent versions? Is it possible to add a 8-12 Gb SCSI-2 drive as a single, large, filesystem to a FreeBSD 2.1 system? Is there anything special to do in formatting very large drives?
