it is possible to use UPPERCASE in the scenerio you describe.  i don't 
want this to sound like a smarta** answer, but i don't have my sendmail 
book with me.  if you have a copy of sendmail from o'reilly, look for 
case/uppercase/lowercase and it will tell you the parameter you need to 
change in sendmail.cf.  it seems like it was in the Mlocal parameter.
