This is almost the identical question someone asked about 2 months ago,
except you may have changed an element. Is your X directory /usr/X11 or
/usr/X11R6 ? The latter is what gets installed, but at least some
versions of Netscape have demanded an X11 directory. This gets solved
with a symlink: X11 --> X11R6 .

The other two requirements are for Netscape 3 and Java applets. First,
you need a CLASSPATH environment variable pointing to the java_30 file
from the tarball, and second, you need to do:

	cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc
	/usr/X11R6/bin/mkfontdir

Execute these two as root.

I hope this helps!
