Hi,

I (in my great wisdom - read stupidity) upgraded a perfectly happy 486 BSDi
2.1 box to a Pentium. Result : trashed both / and /usr filesystems and
machine became completely unstable.

So I reinstalled (easy to reinstall than bother with backups ;)

It crashed.

After replacing everything it has come down to 2 * 8Mb EDO ram chips as the
culprit. I have tried several pairs of EDO ram chips and the result is
always the same, memory faults and page faults resulting in kernel panics.
Put in standard non-EDO ram and she runs like a charm.

Has anyone had ANY similar problems? Or know if a problem exists?

Regards,

Jan
