I remember reading somewhere that there is a minimum system binary
distribution, that has the minimum c source, etc for building or patching a new
kernel.

My problem is that I have an 85MB hard disk. I would like to get this to
experiment with UNIX.

I have looked on many systems and cannot find these component files.

Also, how does one create a whatis.db for apropos using the standard BIN
distribution?

Please respond to private e-mail address. Either one listed below will be
fine.
