I'm having a tough time with FreeBSD and multiple Adaptec controllers.
I have a P5 ASUS board, and 2.1.5 installed, and the only configuration
so far that works is a 2940 Wide as the 1st controller, and a plain 2940
as the 2nd controller.

Here are the combinations I've tried without success:
- Two 2940 Ultra Wides
- Two 2940 Wides
- A 2940 UltraWide and a 2940 Wide
- Two 1542's (one at IRQ 11, addr 330, the other IRQ12 and 334)
- A 2940 Ultra Wide and a 1542
- A 2940 Wide and a 1542

I have disabled and enabled BIOS on the secondary SCSI cards without
success, and the current working setup has bios enabled on both.
I've locked down controllers to buses in the configuration, and built
countless kernels trying to find the magic.

I have 6 4gig drives on the first chain, and 2 9gig drives on the
second card. I need to add at least one more card to handle some more
drives when I run out of room on the second chain.

Looking at the Handbook and source code hasn't given me a clue either.

Since the 2940UW seems to be the only common Adaptec PCI card out there,
finding a way to use 3-4 of them at once would great.

Thanks in advance,
Tyler Barnett
