I think you'll find that most people recommend a DEC 21140 based card - they
work *very well* with FreeBSD. I use the SMC Etherpower 10/100 myself. I have
measured 79 Mbps throughput with two P133s and a crossover cable, using ttcp
or netperf. Could probably do better today - this was between a 2.1R system
and a 2.2-960323-SNAP system.
