Hi:

I have been trying to set up a dumb terminal(a PC running
telix/telemate in actuality), and I am not getting any login prompt.
I followed the direction on the FreeBSD handbook, and I do get a
getty process on the serial port which the null modem cable is connected
to. I am pretty sure that the connection is okay because I can use
tip to talk to the dumb terminal. A previous post indicated that
getty sleeps on DCD, and I think that could be my problem. However,
I dont know how to check whether my null modem cable carries the DCD
signal or not, and if it does, how to enable DCD in telix/telemate.
(The telix status bar always says "Offline"..is that related?)
So what should I do? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
