Hi all:

According to the sound docs, hasty@rah.star-gate.com is the "keeper"
of information on how to setup various sound cards under FreeBSD.

However, Hasty is now extremely busy and can't support this any more.
Has anyone else taken over this task?

I currently have a Soundblaster Pro working under FreeBSD 2.1, but I'd like to
shoot for running a MAD16. I notice that the FreeBSD drivers are basicaly modified (slightly) Linux drivers and that just confuses matters, because I am not very familiar with the Linux device structure and the Hasty's docs don't really explain the porting process.

Could someone please explain this to me? If not, I'll probably eventually
learn enough to be able to become "keeper" of the sound card information -
it would make my life a lot easier if everyone who has tried to make this sound stuff work sends me a short email of your experience, and I'd be more than willing to explain in debt how I configured my sound blaster to run under 2.1.

TIA
