I've gotten NetBSD 1.0 and NetBSD 1.1 installed on an
HP9000/345, with a minimal amount of trouble. Needed to build
the rbootd on one of my other machines (well, actually, I used
an HP/UX system that was here at the time..)

- I am just now getting now starting to try it, but I still need to get my
- Doorstop( Apollo 425t) and paperwaight (Apollo 19" monitor) up off the
- floor, and on the desk.

I've been working on getting my HP9000/425s running.
First problem was to get it into HP/UX mode. To do that, I
needed to attach a terminal to the serial port, and then boot it
in the service mode. The internal disk being on id 6 threw me
for a bit of a loop as well.

However, when I put the disk from the 345 (at id 0) on
the machine, it came right up, and is currently running. In
fact, my news server is running on the 425t right now (and was
previously running on the 345.)

More details. I took the binary distributions from
ftp.iastate.edu (make sure to transfer them in _binary_ mode),
and put them on a local machine for nfs access. Network booting
via SYS_INST came right up with the ``sysinst> '' prompt. Next
step, using disklabel to partition... Fundamentally, I just
followed the instructions.

All I can say is that a T1 to the house is _nice_.. :-)
