I am having a problem, that I belive is line noise. But I thought I
would run the problem past you folks, and see if I am missing somthing.

I have installed a USR 14.4K modem set up for hardware flow control, as
well as &c1&d2 below is my stty for the device.

speed 57600 baud; 0 rows; 0 columns;
lflags: -icanon -isig -iexten -echo -echoe -echok -echoke -echonl
        -echoctl -echoprt -altwerase -noflsh -tostop -flusho -pendin
        -nokerninfo -extproc
iflags: -istrip -icrnl -inlcr -igncr -ixon -ixoff -ixany -imaxbel -ignbrk
        -brkint -inpck -ignpar -parmrk
oflags: -opost -onlcr -oxtabs
cflags: cread cs8 -parenb -parodd hupcl -clocal -cstopb crtscts -dsrflow
        -dtrflow -mdmbuf
cchars: discard = ^O; dsusp = ^Y; eof = ^D; eol = <undef>;
        eol2 = <undef>; erase = ^?; intr = ^C; kill = ^U; lnext = ^V;
        min = 1; quit = ^\; reprint = ^R; start = ^Q; status = <undef>;
        stop = ^S; susp = ^Z; time = 0; werase = ^W;

When calling into this line. Many times I will receive a NO CARRIER
message, without ever receiving a CONNECT message. and if I do connect,
the first connection will display the login prompt, but I am unable to
key anything in, and the it disconnects. the second connection, I am
able to logon, and I have no problems until I logoff, and log back on later.

As I said, I think it's a line noise problem, but I'm not 100% sure that
it is a line noise problem. I am running 2.1.0 release.
