Hi!

I am in the process of setting up a FreeBSD server that is connected to my
ISP via a permanent serial line. The server should be configured to set up
the ppp connection without user interference after a reboot. Therefore I use
ppp -auto. Also, I do a single ping to the outside world at startup, to wake
the thing up.

All seems well at first, but every 838839778...840935198 secs I get a
timeout and the connection drops dead. (The timeout number keeps increasing,
strangely enough...)

The log file says:

08-23 13:39:31 [136] Using interface: tun0
08-23 13:39:32 [137] Listening at 3000.

I use 'ppp -auto test'. My ppp.conf looks like:

===========================================
default:
 set device /dev/cuaa1
 set speed 38400
 disable lqr
 deny lqr
 set dial ""

test:
 set ifaddr 194.151.72.23 194.151.68.6
 add 0 0 194.151.68.6
 enable proxy
 set timeout 0
===========================================
my ppp.linkup looks like:

===========================================
194.151.72.23:
 add 0 0 194.151.68.6

test:
 add 0 0 194.151.68.6

MYADDR:
 add 0 0 HISADDR
===========================================

Does anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong? And, if I'm not doing
anything wrong, what I should do to stop the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings,
Peter Benschop
