Recently I have experienced a few hung systems and this is what I see
in messages:

etc...

This seems to coincide with a lot of simultaneous PPP and disk
activity... for example when loading a graphics-intensive page with
Chimera, which writes temp files into /var/tmp.

Any idea of what's going on, or a way to debug?

I am using a NetBSD_1.2BETA system on sun3.
