I have FreeBSD 2.0 Release

Ok, here is the thing...

I am trying to re-work the disk partitions. Originally I created an
additional partition (/data) beyond the standard /, /usr/, /var, and
swap. I would now like to delete /var and /data and make a new,
larger /var. My first thought was to use "sysinstall" from a boot
disk and go into Custom, Label and use the Disklabel Editor. Then
delete the two partitions (/dev/wd1s1e and /dev/wd1s1g) and use
"C" to create a new larger partition. And finally use the dreaded
"W" command to write the changes......ohhhh noooo should I do it?

Is all this a wise to get the job done or....am I flirting with
disastor??

If I am flirting with disasator, what is a wise way to re-work
these paritions?

PS: just point me in the right direction....no blow by blow needed

Thanks
