Yes, I have tried the "ifconfig" command. I could advertise the IP 
address (the gateway address of the subnet) on the loopback lo0 but not 
on the ethernet interface ef0. I do not want to put another ethernet 
card in the box. When I put the IP on the lo0, all the machine on the 
205.10.8 can ping it but not those on 205.10.5.96.  

Any ideas will be appreciated.
