To my previous posting I have some additional informations
for those who are able to help anyway.

While running the Xserver it spontanously collapsed and dumped
the core, on the console I got the message of an Xserver caught
Error 11, which means a segmentation violation. The problem is:
as often I try to use another Xserver (XF86_S3) I catch the same
problem. After starting the server from within the console by
typing X -indirect host the server came up, worked for a while and
by doing some actions in fvwm95 (R 041f) it collapsed again,
dumping a new core and printing again the SIGSEGV Error. Earlier
in this game I caught other errors like protectected sockets etc.

My question is: is that problem a fault caused by me or is that
a simple software problem? Sometimes I think the problem is the
stupid old hardware, but before changing it I have to proof this
to my professor ... ;-<

Well, is anybody out there with a bunch of experiences and
the capability of serving help, please, here I am!

Best wishes,
O. Hartmann
