Yes, but its not pretty.  The jist of it is this, if the platter has spun down
you cant mount it, if its mounted then it will spin up and work peachy.
Changing discs also does not work.  The real interesting piece however, is that
if you mount it after a spin down, or changing the disc, and your system
panics, if you can get to the debugger typing "continue" will allow you to go
on your merry way with the now mounted (fine) Jaz Disk..  Go figure, I was
thinking about finding the offending panic and changing it to a warning (this
is with 2.2-960801-SNAP)
