I've tried to enable the cdrom on two different systems, both running
FreeBSD-2.1.5. Both systems crash while probing wdc1 with the message

 panic: drive attached twice

Both cdroms are configured as master on the second IDE.

Any ideas?

(BTW. the machines are very different hardware-wise; one 486/VL-bus,
the other a pentium/PCI. Cdroms are a phillips-2x and Goldstar-4x
respectively).
