Good afternoon!

I have FreeBSD (infomagic) 2.1-RELEASE on a 486-DX66 w/16megs ram, 15megs
swap, and a rebuilt kernel (ps/2, ide/atapi, ppp, etc).

I downloaded, printed, and read the FAQ and the handbook regarding Linux
emulation, but have NOT been able to get it running properly, yet. (I keep
getting the message that binaries are of the wrong architecture).

Here's what I have done (installed):

- linux_lib.tar.gz (NOT linux_lib-2.0.tar.gz)
- lkm (linux scripts)
- recompiled the kernel with the following included:
	COMPAT_43
	SYSV -> ALL SYSV statements
	COMPAT_LINUX
(By the way, this is NOT in the LINT file --- this is in my custom
	 kernel {MYKERNEL} file).
- the libs are in /compat/linux/libs, and /compat/linux/usr/lib/X11
- reboot with the new kernel
- linux runs (I can tell it is running with modstat)
- try to run a binary (that's where I get the architecture error).

So where do I go now? What I supposed to have installed
linux_lib-2.0.tar.gz?

Some of the docs mentioned that 2.1.5 requires ldconfig to be run, but does
the same hold true for 2.1R?

Please respond if you have any more information.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Nathan V. Patwardhan
