I am trying to update my newsreader so that it would be able to connect to our NNTP news server from another machine. I have read RFC 977, but am not sure how to use that. I am new to network programming, and am looking for any source code from existing newsreaders, code fragments on how to connect to another machine, and tips or suggestions.
