I assume that you have hit the F1 function key and it is not booting
FreeBSD. If this is the case, then it sounds like you have a problem.
First thing to do is use fdisk (say from the install floppy) to see
if it recognizes your disk as still being BSD (do not save *anything*
while you are doing this or you will probably hose your system for
sure). You may need to use the fixit floppy.
