I don't know if this is related to your problem, but if I ever try to get a large number of man pages (say by man '*' > temp) then after a few I get something like: Formatting page, please wait...Pipe call failed Error executing formatting or display command. system command exited with status 512 Failed. -- Michael Searle - searle@longacre.demon.co.uk
