This post is an update to a previous message:

A few days ago I posted a message in this newsgroup stating that I was not able to successfully
install FreeBSD 2.1.5. Currently I am running FreeBSD 2.1.0 and am trying to upgrade to the latest
release. After the motherboard is probed, the screen goes blank and the system hangs.

Since posting the original message, I've tried disabling sio1-4 as recommended in the FAQ. But to
no avail, the system still hangs after the motherboard is probed. The Video card installed on the
machine is Diamond Stealth64 (S3 Chip). To satisfy my curiosity, I tried booting-up using a
different video card. The problem persisted. I must note that I experienced this problem once
before (earlier this year) when installing a SNAP version of FreeBSD. I waited for a later version
of the SNAP image and the problem went away. What could be causing this problem? As stated, I am
currently running 2.1.0-RELEASE, which installed with no problem.

Thanks in advance for your help.
