Be aware that Creative has also recently released a 2X package
containing the familiar 1830 interface, but a drive manufactured by
Funai (CCR 2.00) that unfortunately does not work with the driver
intended for the Panasonic drive. I found this out when trying to
connect one to a Warp box. Creative released a different driver, which
has it own set of unique problems - chiefly, bad address determination
at boot time.
