Hello:

I appologize if this topic has been discused already, but I am having
some difficulty setting my pppd to use pap authentication.

I am able to log into my target destination and instatiate ppp there. I
break into my local shell and I write: "/usr/sbin/pppd +pap /dev/ttyd1
57600"

All the garbage that ppp at the target machine was spitting out stops,
but when I do an ifconfig -a, my ppp0 inteface does not display a
connection at all.

I am probably not setting my pap file(s) correctly, mostly because I am
not sure what needs to be setup; so, any help will be much appreciated.

please email me!!

Thank you in advance.
