Lines: 28 Message-ID: <31F7DF2F.43DC@alaska.net> NNTP-Posting-Host: anc-p28-61.alaska.net Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: Mozilla 2.02 (Win16; I) from what i understand, this Q is a FAQ; however, the FAQs solution does not appear to matter in my case ... my error is this (after a 2.1.5 MBR install) dos (my dos part 899 cyl, 15 hd, 62 sect) 408M disk 2 (my BSD part - true, 967 cyl, 16 hd, 31 sect) 234M BSD disk 1 repeat ad infinitum ... dos part = C:, BSD = D: i got the geometry directly from the manufactures. verified ok on the HDs. verified by BIOS, MSD, FDISK, & BSD sysinstall & BSD kernel. i have installed 2.1.0 with no glitches before. i have tried to install 2.1.5 at least 10 times, tweaking little things like setting a partition as "bootable", etc. but nothing seems to make any diff. i did a fdisk /mbr, i reformatted D: with dos, and again with BSD. i'm doing a MINIMUM install with MBR. no errors on VT2, watched the whole install. i've set the geometry, even though it's detected ok. i use AUTO create for my BSD partitions. i tried MSDs parms (1 number lower for both cylinder parms), same thing. i'm ripping my hair out! my boss is getting angry, please help!
