Hi,
I upgraded my system from 2.1.0 => 2.1.5, compiled the kernel
I was using on 2.1.0 and found out that the sound card is not working.
It is a SB16 and it worked fine before the upgrade.

My kernel configuration file has the following lines:
controller snd0
device sb0 at isa? port 0x220 irq 7 conflicts drq 1 vector sbintr

..and dmesg says:
sb0 at 0x220 irq 7 drq 1 on isa
sb0: <SoundBlaster 16 4.11>

If I try to do something like:
cat etwas.au > /dev/audio
..nothing happens, it just hangs there until I press Ctrl-C.

xcdplayer 2.2 plays audio CD:s though, but the volume control has no effect.

Any ideas where the problem could be?

Thanks,
