I have found that usernames in netgroup entries (hostname,username,nis-domain)
are restricted to 9 characters. I don't know whether this is a bug or
a feature, but it is slightly inconvenient though most usernames are
shorter than this.

I haven't looked at the nis version included with 2.1.5 but I understand
it has been (partly?) rewritten. So maybe that will solve some
of the problems with netgroups.

But appart from these long names, netgroups work fine:

in the netgroup source file:
groupname (-,user1,mydomain), (-,user2,mydomain)

in the password file: (master.passwd, use vipw)
+@groupname:::::::::

Works for me. :-)
