The position I understood was that you could provide readonly onward
news feeds, but couldn't originate articles on other machines, although
I suspect that there would be no real complaints if you were providing
a backup route for someone who had already injected the article via
another account or ISP, as the presumption would be that Demon would
normally already have the article.

This was a clear distinction from Eunet (now PSI) who did charge for every
site receiving news directly and indirectly from their feed.

The position at least used to be that news was supplied without condition,
but the service for posting news did have conditions.
