Can you send the first $password, do a PAUSE, and then send your PPP 
line? I would think that perhaps a 10-second pause would be likely to 
ensure the $xxxxx prompt appearing. Or, your ISP may even save the 
keystrokes for when the prompt does show up. Then you can wait normally 
for the next prompt.
