What steps does a user take when he wants to start his car?
There are certain processes that have been deemed too
complicated for the average driver to bother with, hence
the developement automatic oil-pump and fuel-air regulation
as standard equipment on most cars(US).
Aren't there packages in existance already that
could be organized so when one starts his new OS
he doesn't have to start the venture by learning
how to use ed? Or move from dir to dir. A program
like Less that could be executed at the prompt would
have been nice. No need to make some kind of
"Starting BSD for the First Time" sort of thing,
but how about some executables newbies could
jump into. Include them with the core dist.
No need to write a bunch of code, just add
some proven tools in the path or linked with
a batch file. Give folks some orientation
as to what's going on. I asked Ed to show
me a file and he said, "Huh?" I was more specific
-"Not only would I like to edit the file, I would
like to see it too." He replied, "Of course, why didn't you
say so." Smartass. I think he's related to Find.
