I was wondering would anyone be able to help me. I am a student
studying computers and as a project I am interested in setting up a
mailserver with dial-in access(PPP or SLIP). The mail volume would be
low. I would also like to have the option of upgrading it in the
future to perhaps a news or Web server.

What software would be the best to use considering that my budget is
small. Somebody mentioned that I should install a Unix clone such as
Linux or FreeBSD. Does anybody have experience of using these?
Personally I would like to use a dos/windows based system.
