And "wine".  But note, pcemu does 8086 DOS code and wine doesn't exactly
do enormous numbers of applications (I've had minesweeper working).

If you want dos/windows, dos/windows is still the best solution.  If you
want these *and* a real OS, your best approach is dual-boot or two
machines.
