I have tried every possible way (IRQ and IO addresses, software and
hardware, etc) to configure my NE2000 compatible NIC but failed. The
system still complains: "ed0: device timeout". The card worked fine
on my Novell LAN connection so I don't suppose it's the card's fault.

Since I've seen so many posts for the same problem, I wonder if it is
the kernel's driver code problem?

What do you guys think? I know someone is going to tell me to get a
genuine NE2000...
