Hi everybody,

I am using BSD/OS 2.1 with Xaccel server and I would like to create
accentuated characters in shell and in X applications.

I have compiled my kernel with "options KBD=FR".

1) before starting X, I can't use accentuated characters. When I use a
key
supposed to create an accentuated characters, I got a beep and nothing
appears
on the screen. What's the problem ?

Thanks to xkeycaps, I created .Xmodmap by choosing the keyboard "PC 102
key
keyboard #1 and the layout "Linux/Xfree86 French layout" which looks
like my
real keyboard layout. I run xmodmap .Xmodmap in my .xinitrc.

2) If I try to type on keys that supposed to create an accentuated
character,
I receive a beep and nothing is printed in xterm window.

3) It works under xemacs and exmh. However, I don't know how to create
an
accentuated characters when I need to use 2 keys to generate it as for
cedilla
or diaeresis accents on e with xemacs. I configured a Multi_key in my
.Xmodmap
and in exmh, it is possible to generate all accentuated letters with
Compose
keys combinations. For the moment, when I type on Multi_key (F12 :
keycode 96
= Multi_key) in xemacs, I got a beep.

4) Under vi, I receive other codes instead of the expected accentuated
letter
(ex : 0xe9 instead of eacute).

Thanks in advance for your help.	Gildas.
