I can't be 100% sure, of course, but it is the most likely place to try first. The 
control is in the BIOS Setup menu -- either Advanced or Chipset menu, depending on 
your particular BIOS. Cache timing is controlled in there, too. Hit the Del/Delete 
key while the BIOS is counting up the available memory.
