There are, to my knowledge, several porting efforts underway.

One of them publicly admits that he is working on it:

	http://www.tools.de/~ws/NetBSD/ppc.html (needs OpenFirmware)

For other hardware (not-openfirmware), if you are seriously
interested, I guess core@netbsd.org can put you in contact.
