You may if you're lucky, find that you can get access to some files like
this via FTP as well, which then lets you fire off a batch FTP request at 
Demon.

I know and share your frustrations and often end up myself throwing 
regular, even flood pings at the remote site to keep it alive, not the 
most sociable activity but when I want a file desparately....
