Translation:  You can then log out of your session on a machine that's
connected (logically) to the internet backbone and wait for the lynx to
finish.

Translation:  You can then disconnect your PPP link, logging off from the
demon-du gateway and having the www-proxy server continue to download
and cache the file.

I think people are talking at cross-purpose.  The demon customers are
interrested in minimizing the amount of time on the phone.
