the problem is that you are not running Mode32. I went through this loop some
time back.


Follow these instructions.

Get mode32 from 

Host ftp.latrobe.edu.au

    Location: /pub/mac
      DIRECTORY dr-xr-xr-x        512  Jun 12 1993  mode32

install this application, turn on 32Bit addressing on both apple memory and in
Mode32. Make sure that VM is off and cache is at 256K. Then reboot and try
again. Believe me it will work :)
