i have this problem, i have a USR sportster 28.8, and im using it to connect

to the internet through ppp, for some reason if i use this
modem, it wants to delete the default route, and 1-2 min
connection time....BUT, if i switch back to my old
14.4 Generic Modem, it works fine, and never deletes a route
And no, it cant be routed, because im not running it
i've also tried connect this 28.8 at 9600 and
it still deletes the default route.

The Logs show nothing, except that ppp took down a layer, and
disconnected accordingly after 1-2 min (it says secs but its mins)
after connection time....

Does anyknow know whats going on.... i thought it might
be the serial port, but since i jsut bougt this fast
serial card ( this is an external modem) and it's got
a 16550A UART, i would think it would be more than
capable of handling a 28.8.

Thanks
joel
