I had an ATI Ultra+ on backorder, and I called ATI wanting to order
programming information. Basically, they told me if I wrote them a note
on company letterhead, and asked really nicely, and told them why I
wanted to program the card, they just might let me buy the
documentation. This is after I called before I ordered the card to find
out if I could purchase the docs, when I was told they were $50.

I cancelled my order, and got an Orchid Farenheit 1280 instead. It has
a much nicer display than my old STB PowerGraph from 1990.

I won't buy black-box hardware, especially from a company that doesn't
seem to know what's going on. They haven't even released their Ultra+
cards yet. This is how many months after they were supposed to be
released?

Look out, this appears to be a new trend in video card manufacturing.
