Someone on the mailing lists attempted to do this recently, and although
it *appeared* to work the formats were different enough such that
mounting the FS from the other OS corrupted it when the native OS tried
to read the FS.

Solaris has apparently added some 'extensions' to the standard BSD-FFS to
make it slightly incompatible.
