The only difference between the Rev E series and the Rev F is the
presence of a BIOS socket. Rev E0 has 3 PLCC sockets (FW1/FW2/BIOS)
with chips in each. Rev E05 has the same 3 sockets, but the BIOS one
is empty (there's a copy of the BIOS in the FW1/2 parts, but it only
works for PCI-compliant motherboards - the BIOS in the BIOS socket
is used for non-compliant motherboards). Rev F deletes the empty BIOS
socket - all that's there are the pads on the PC board.

I am running BT-946C's as old as Rev A without any problems on
heavily-loaded news servers and similar systems. As long as the boards
have the latest firmware there have been no problems.
