Did you connect this master drive to the secondary IDE port (wdc1, 0x170, IRQ 15)?

Two masters won't run together on one cable; they have to operate independently on 
two different ports. Also, if you have a net card using IRQ 15, you'll have to 
reconfigure that -- the secondary IDE port is a bit harder to change :-)
