What's your hardware configuration? Try turning off your CPU cache
(problem with some 486 caches; turn it back on after the install). Did
you write boot.flp to a verified good (preformatted) floppy?

Considering that EVERY IDE CDROM I'VE EVER SEEN comes with ITS OWN
ATAPI driver that doesn't work with any other drives, it can't really
be that much of a standard. That said, I have had no trouble with the
three IDE CD-ROMS that have passed through my machine (a Mitsumi 2x, a
Sony 4x, and a Teac 6x).

What does "Doesn't work" mean? Can't detect on installation? Did you
use the atapi.flp boot floppy? If you are adding a CD-rom to an
existing system, do you have wdc1 (2nd IDE controller) and wcd0 (CD-ROM)
in the kernel? Are they being detected?

We can't help you if you don't tell us what's wrong...
