Trying to install FreeBSD 2.1 from the Walnut Creek CD-ROM, but not getting
anywhere with it. My CD-ROM is not one of the recognized types (it's an
ACER CD-747e/HAS, IDE, master). Tried the IDE installation, it scans my
CD-ROM as a second wd device and then hangs right at the point where the
installer should be coming up.

Called HP to see how I might change my CD-ROM configuration to slave instead
of master. No luck.

Any ideas, anyone (other than replacing the drive)?

TIA
