Dear Ken,

Thanks for reply.
This was my first time running the install program and for some reason
the DOS partition was not recognized and was not listed as used and so
I tried both 'A' for all and 'C' for create seperate partition. I
tried several times but still no DOS partition was listed. I
downloaded freeBSD from a different site and created a new boot
floppy. This seems to list the DOS partition and was able to load
fine. The first time around I downloaded from several different
sites. This time I downloaded from one site. I now wish to install
other things such as X client/server, web sever etc.

Can I use the boot floppy to install additional software or can you
install in freeBSD? If you can install from freeBSD can you use the
DOS partition for installation?

The install program mentioned to use /stand/sysinstall

Also, I wish to use FTP server, web server, etc.. on freeBSD as a
server for a local net(as an Intranet solution) without actually being
connected to the Internet? When I try to install the LAN card it asks
for gateway/router numbers but I only want to use the web server right
now for local area network. Where can I find information on
configuring things like this?

Thank you,
Rick

Thanks for the advice.
